We hate decision fatigue! It creeps into every aspect of our lives, grinding us down with endless choices.
As the popularity of parcel boxes continues to grow, we wanted to help keep this to a minimum.
When ordering your brand new parcel box there are 6 main things to consider. Get your answers to all of these and your new parcel box will pick itself. These are:
- Size
- Colour
- Personalisation
- Location
- Installation
- Speak to the experts
Read on to find out more about each of these considerations. By the end you’ll be ready to order your brand new Parcel Box.
How large should your parcel box be?
This really depends on what size the majority of parcels are that you receive, as you will want to accommodate the vast majority of these with the parcel box that you decide to purchase from iLoveParcels.
Parcel sizes are usually measured by a combination of the length, width and height of the parcel. Some couriers refer to this as the girth of the parcel, but also by the weight, and both need to be a consideration when choosing your parcel box.
Large letters as defined by Royal Mail are anywhere up to 35.3cm x 25cm x 2.5cm and up to 750g in weight, which is easily accommodated by all of the parcel boxes for sale on our website.
If you are expecting high volumes of mail you may consider one of our high capacity lockable parcel boxes.
However, if you regularly receive large or heavy parcels we would recommend that you look at our range of floor mounted parcel boxes. These are also perfect for commercial use as well.
What colour parcel box?
Parcel boxes need to be visible to postmen and delivery drivers alike. As such the colour should be chosen to complement the decor of your property without camouflaging it.
If you have a black front door you may opt for a black or anthracite-coloured parcel box to suit the colour scheme, or for the more green-fingered one of our green parcel boxes might suit better.
All of these can be personalised to your specific requirements!
Personalising your Parcel Box
To ensure your parcel is delivered to the correct address, you can add your house number and optionally street name to your parcel box and pick a font and colour of your choosing. This can make your parcel box very much personalised to you and your property and will help your postie to be in no doubt that they are delivering to you.
The right location
House layouts and designs differ enormously, and as such your parcel box location may be different to everyone else on your street.
Of course, you don’t want the parcel box to look out of place, but it also needs to be visible enough for delivery drivers to find it easily and quickly.
It may be that you are planning to replace an existing post box with your new purchase, and know exactly where it will go, but we recommend inspecting the outside of your property from your delivery driver’s view (potentially even from your vehicle to ensure the location that you choose will be easily spotted). This will ensure that all of your deliveries arrive with no issues.
Of course, it also needs to be in a convenient location for you to access, but be rest assured that all our parcel boxes are secure, reliable, easy to use and weatherproof, so your deliveries will be safe no matter where the box is located.
Installation
Installation of your parcel box is quick and easy for anyone with basic DIY skills and tools.
After finding the ideal location for your parcel box, it’s time to install your new purchase.
You will need a few basic tools to install your box, depending on which model you have purchased, but these are the essentials:
- Pencil or marker to mark screw holes
- Drill and drill bits
- Screwdriver
